Sling Sizes and Types

General Purpose Sling (GP) – white poly-cotton fabric
Standard Sizes: Juvenile (J) 1, 2, 3, & 4
Long Sizes: (L): 1L, 2L, & 3L

The General Purpose Sling is the most popular sling for auto and home use. It is moisture-absorbent, comfortable and flexible for easy placement around the user. Quadriplegics, stroke patients and neurological disease patients are well suited to the General Purpose Sling.

Bath Sling (B) – white nylon mesh
Sizes: Juvenile (J) 1, & 2
(Also available in Head Support style)

For a user requiring a water-resistant sling or where moisture may be a concern, the mesh Bath Sling will serve best. The user can wash him- or herself through the mesh of the sling, and the BackSaver design makes it easy to clean that hard-to-get-at sitting area.

Head Support Sling  – white poly-cotton fabric
Standard Sizes: Juvenile (J) 1, 2, 3, & 4
Long Sizes: (L): 1L, 2L, & 3L

For people with little to no head control, we offer the Head Support Sling series. This sling comes in three levels of increasing support: the High Back Sling, a soft sling which extends to the bone at the base of the neck, and which is also available with optional supportive interior slats; the Head Support Sling, which offers more substantial support, including slats; and the Full Head Support Sling, which incorporates a full hood and two straps to immobilize the head, for people with no above the neck voluntary motor function. The entire Head Support Sling series is available in sizes Juvenile, and Adult 1-3.

Two Piece Quick Sling  – white poly-cotton fabric
Sizes: One Size Fits All

For independent users, for example paraplegics with good upper-body dexterity, we recommend the two-piece Quick Sling. One piece of the sling goes across the user’s upper back and under both arms, while the other piece slides under the knees. This makes the Quick Sling convenient to insert, but it does concentrate pressure on the upper back, armpits and thighs, so before using this sling, make sure this pressure does not create an undue risk for your particular user.

We also recommend the Quick Sling for assisted users when ease of sling placement and removal is a primary concern, for example in cases where the assistant has below-average hand dexterity, which might make proper placement of a General Purpose Sling difficult.

The Quick Sling is also useful for toileting, because the 2-piece design facilitates the removal of pants and underwear before the user contacts the toilet seat.
